Iron Cross Rings
Iron Cross Rings?
promise ring

The Iron Cross was originally made of a black-white ribbon sewed together as a cross. Later it was made as a metal cross. The Iron Cross (a black four-pointed cross with white trim, with the arms widening towards the ends, similar to a cross pattée) was designed by the neoclassical architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel and reflects the cross borne by the Teutonic Knights in the 14th century, which was also the emblem of Frederick the Great. When the Quadriga of the Goddess of Peace was retrieved from Paris at Napoleon's fall, the Goddess was re-established atop Berlin's Brandenburg Gate. An Iron Cross was inserted into her laurel wreath, making her into a Goddess of Victory. In contrast to many other medals, the Iron Cross has a very simple design and is now made from precious metals. It was traditionally cast in iron, although in later years, the decoration was cast in zinc and aluminium. Our ring example to right is a raised border made in 14k white gold but can be made in palladium sterling silver, .925 sterling silver and engraved inside using any font style. Iron cross rings resizing is just sometimes part of the process as much as finding the right ring or designing the right ring. At custom promise rings we know from experience the urgency of needing your ring resized for an occasion or special day means and try very hard to size your ring up or down size the day we receive it. We are as interested as you are to have your ring resized quickly and accurately. It is important when resizing a ring not to interrupt any stone setting or especially the engraving that is so primarily the center focus of our custom promise rings. That is why we encourage our customers to return their ring to us for quick and professional ring resizing at a fee that is complimentary for their business. We make sure our rings are made to last for years of wear by engraving them deeply. These are important things to consider when making a promise ring band purchase.
